Once again another Hollywood starlet’s engagement
has given rise to speculation of her impending motherhood.
Ashlee Simpson, who has been dating Fall Out Boy bassist
Pete Wentz since late 2006 and announced her engagement
in early April 2008 and now US Weekly and OK! are delivering
some pretty convincing reports that there is truth in the
rumours.

With no sign of Pope Benedict XVI in America at the weekend
and Heather Mills not available to perform one of her own
brands of ‘baptism’, Jennifer Lopez and husband
Marc Anthony had to make do with the a common or garden
Catholic baptism for their cherished 7 week old twins.
Twins, Max and Emme were joined by other family members
and close friends, at what else than a top-secret venue,
for the ceremony. But it was known to be at a church on
Long Island, New York.

Spears to release private video diaries?
I am finding this story hard to believe, but just in case
it’s true… Britney Spears has reportedly kept
a video diary of all her trouble over the past six months.
Sources say she rants about everything and everyone, and
now Britney for some unknown reason has threatened to release
the videos online or through MTV. A source said,
“Britney’s video diaries are the talk of the Tinseltown
elite. Her high-profile friends and exes - including Justin
- knew what she was up to but assumed she was filming herself
as a form of therapy. If she does decide to go public with
the footage, it’ll be explosive. Although some of it
is really sad to watch - especially the parts where she’s
close to breakdown - others are dynamite. Not surprisingly
both JT and Kevin Federline are terrified the material will
end up all over the net. Or, even worse, Britney will agree
to another MTV documentary, and release some of the footage
through official channels.”

Toni
Braxton Hospitalized for Chest Pains
Grammy-winning singer Toni Braxton is in "good condition"
after being admitted to a Las Vegas hospital for chest pains
Monday night, says a spokeswoman for a hotel-casino where
the singer has been performing. The singer, 40, is expected
to be released from the St. Rose Dominican Hospital on Tuesday
afternoon, according to the Flamingo Hotel-Casino rep. She
has been headlining her live show "Toni Braxton: Revealed"
five days a week at the Flamingo since 2006. The singer
has spoken in public about her heart condition, pericarditis,
an inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart. "I
found out about five or four years ago" the artist
told PEOPLE in February. "I've also been diagnosed
with hypertension. "This year, Braxton became a spokesperson
for the American Heart Association. She was not scheduled
to perform Sunday or Monday night. Tuesday's show has been
canceled to give the singer time to recover. "We wish
Toni a quick recovery and would like her to take the time
she needs to regain optimal health," said president
of Flamingo Las Vegas, Don Marrandino. "We are looking
forward to her return at the end of the week." Calls
to Braxton's publicist have not been returned.

new album to go up against Mariah's
Ashlee Simpson's new album, "Bittersweet World,"
has had anything but a sweet start. The release date first
had to be pushed from fall of 2007 to the first quarter
of 2008 at the last minute. And now that the April 22 release
date is fast approaching, Simpson faces competition she
hadn't been counting on —Mariah Carey. Carey, who last
week surpassed Elvis Presley as solo artist with the most
No. 1 singles, will release her new album, "E=MC2,"
just days before Simpson, and that's got the Simpson camp
concerned. "Ashlee needs to hit a home run with this
album," said a source close to the pop star. "She
really had great success with her early work, but ever since
the lip synching on 'Saturday Night Live,' she's had something
to prove. Her career literally depends on this album being
successful." The first single from Carey's new album,
"Touch My Body," was released ahead of the album
(it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart), but other
tracks from "E=MC2" have leaked onto the Internet
since the single's release. One record industry source thinks
the culprit could be someone from the Simpson camp hoping
to dilute the impact of Carey's release. "Joe Simpson
has every right to be nervous about Ashlee going up against
Mariah. They (the Simpson camp) are backed into a corner
with this release date since they already changed it once.
Their only option in fighting the Mariah machine would be
to create a way to make the album's release less newsworthy."

Swayze Responding Well to treatment of pancreatic cancer
According to his doctor, Patrick Swayze has had an “excellent”
response to treatment for pancreatic cancer. His physician,
Dr. George Fisher, has said: “Patrick Swayze continues
to respond well to his treatment for pancreatic cancer.
Because of his excellent response, he will continue the
same therapy at Stanford. "Swayze, 55, came clean about
his ordeal after the Enquirer had run articles that he had
been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one of the most serious
of the cancers. He has been undergoing chemotherapy but
not radiation treatment, according to his rep. Swayze and
wife Lisa Niemi told People Magazine. “We’re thrilled
and grateful for the positive response Patrick has shown
towards his treatment,” “Also, we can’t help
but feel that all the prayers, meditations and good thoughts
sent his way by everyone has made a difference. Thank you!”
said the couple.

The ongoing struggles of one in-law are just too much for
Julia Roberts to handle. According to the National Enquirer,
the actress is fed up with her husband Danny Moder’s
booze-battling sister and her latest cry for help. When
Julia heard news that a fire broke out her sister-in-law’s
home, she urged her husband not to reach out to his sibling,
claims one family insider. His sister Jyl’s problems
“continually chip away at (Julia and Danny’s)
marriage.” An insider insists, “Some of their
biggest fights have been over Jyl.” Jyl’s past
includes multiple rehab stints and three DUI busts, reports
the Enquirer. It’s believed she was intoxicated at
the time of the latest incident “and accidentally knocked
over some candles — lighting a rug on fire.” “Instead
of letting Danny rush to his sister’s side, Julia put
her foot down and insisted his place was with her and the
kids.” Julia’s even delaying the Moder family’s
efforts for an intervention, according to the source. “Julia’s
making a bad situation even worse. She wants to handle the
situation personally — but not until she’s done
filming (her latest flick, ‘Duplicity’).”
Apparently the bad blood’s brewed between Julia and
Jyl for a long time. “(Jyl’s) always thought Julia
stole Danny away from his first wife, Vera, and even once
called her ‘the devil’ at a family wedding.”

Gives Up On Adoption of Second Malawian Child?
According to the Hot Momma, Madonna has dramatically abandoned
her two-year attempt to adopt a Malawian girl. Madonna has
told aides she has been left “exhausted” by a
mountain of red tape. This news comes on the heels of her
adoption of Malawian son David Banda, two, which was finalized
this month. Friends were sure she would be bringing home
Mercy, also two, as a sister for him. Instead The 49-year-old
singer will support the orphan financially from Britain.
Madonna has two other children and is wed to British film
director Guy Ritchie is said to have feared another two
years of legal wrangling. A family friend said: “Madonna
wanted to adopt a boy and a girl. But Mercy’s relatives
objected and she had a complete turnaround. Everyone was
stunned. Normally nothing will stop her. She now believes
David will be the last child she adopts. Instead she will
support orphans through her charity.” I may be off
base here, but this news comes right after rumors that Madonna
and Guy Ritchie’s marriage is on the rocks. The report
here, claims that the couple will not officially announce
their decision until 18 months have passed.

Lynn is already planning her wedding
It’s hard for Jamie Lynn Spears to shock anyone these
days. After announcing her pregnancy in December, engagement
news could be easy to overlook. But thanks to a recent outing
in a T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “The Rumors
Are True” while sporting a shiny diamond on her hand,
Spears has put many of the questions regarding her relationship
to her baby’s father, Casey Aldridge, to rest. “Jamie
Lynn and Casey are officially engaged,” a close friend
of the teen couple confirmed to OK! magazine. “They’re
committed to each other and anxious to be the best parents
they can possibly be, and also the best husband and wife
they can be to each other.” The 16-year-old Spears
won’t be trading Louisiana for Los Angeles after the
baby is born, a source close to Spears told us. And the
magazine confirms that the couple will wed in the Spears’
hometown of Kentwood, La., too. OK! reports that the wedding
will take place at Serenity, the estate of big sister Britney
Spears, who will likely be a bridesmaid. Jamie Lynn won’t
be rushing to the altar in the typical sense, however. The
magazine’s source reports that she’ll wait to
get back into shape before swapping “I do’s.”
“I expect she’ll want to wait at least several
months to get her figure back so she can wear a beautiful
wedding gown and then have her dream wedding.”

and Reese’s family getaway in Cabo
Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon continue to be one
of Hollywood’s cutest and most low-key couples. The
pair, along with Witherspoon’s kids, Ava and Deacon,
went on a little spring break of their own in Cabo San Lucas,
Mexico, according to Us Weekly. They trip got off to a bumpy
start. Gyllenhaal is on crutches and Witherspoon had an
allergic reaction to strawberries on the flight to Mexico,
but once they arrived at their rented home on the El Dorado
Golf and Beach Club, Us reports that gang settled in well.
The magazine’s eyewitness said that “the kids
loved the pool. It was hard to tear them away from the water.”
And although the group had a private chef, “Reese and
Jake both did a lot of cooking.” There doesn’t
appear to be much awkwardness when Gyllenhaal is with the
kids, either. “The kids have fun with him — he
makes them laugh,” reports the mag. That isn’t
to say Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal didn’t have alone
time — that’s where the nanny came in. At night,
“they had a fire pit, and they sat around and talked
after the kids went to bed,” Us reports. “Having
the nanny also let them have time together undisturbed.”

and Beyonce Apply For Marriage License
Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z were in Scarsdale Village, N.Y
today and applied for a marriage license today reports People
Magazine. The license is valid for 60 days. Beyonce’s
rep refused to comment on the news.
Beyonce and Jay-Z have been dating since 2002 and there
have been so many rumors of them getting married, pregnant,
etc. After so many false rumors I am now wondering is this
real or some devious April Fool’s joke or even an episode
of Ashton Kutcher’s New ‘Pop Fiction” Show?
I guess we will know within 60 days.

Carey Rolls Into London
The diva has landed and she doesn’t
pack lightly. Mariah Carey rolled into London with a fleet
of five cars and a separate van just to carry her luggage
and chaos ensued. She wouldn’t have it any other way.
Mimi and her hefty entourage were mobbed as they arrived
at the hotel by fans and paparazzi who had braved the cold
to stay out until her 2.30am entrance. Mimi’s guards
immediately jumped out of the limousine and started knocking
paps around to clear a path for her. Mimi’s
in town to promote new CD “Touch My Body” and
do a signing at Selfridges today. And a major logistics
operation is in full swing to support her CD signing. Sources
told Metro that Mimi has made a list of demands including
a $10,000 table direct from Greenwich Village in New York,
special Fiji water, and Trident gum. Other treats include
a $2,000 chair to rest her diva derrière as well
as a shipment of Krispy Kreme doughnuts for her entourage.
Basically, Mimi wants America brought to her.

Romano Returns To TV
Ray Romano is plotting a return to the smallscreen via
TNT.
Comic thesp has teamed with "Everybody Loves Raymond"
scribe-producer Mike Royce to create "Men of a Certain
Age," a comedic one-hour drama in which Romano will
also star. In a rare move, TNT is going straight to pilot
on the script, which was written outside the normal development
process.
"Men" will revolve around three men in their
40s, friends since college, who now find themselves going
through midlife crises of various sorts. Project is described
as akin to "Sideways" in tone.
Romano and Royce wrote and created "Men" together
and both will serve as exec producers. Royce will be showrunner,
with Rory Rosegarten and Cary Hoffman aboard as exec producers.
TNT is producing the pilot itself, with no studio currently
attached.
"Mike and I have always had success writing what we
know," Romano said. "What we know now is that
we're middle-aged, neurotic and fat."
Michael Wright, who's in charge of content creation for
the Turner networks, said the series is about "the
highs and lows of being a guy in the modern era.
"It's about three best friends, each hoping to fulfill
his dreams before the clock starts running out," he
added. "It's an honest, emotional, funny and very personal
take on the subject.''
